چکیده

We elucidate constraints imposed by confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking on the infrared behaviour of the dressed-quark and -gluon propagators, and dressed-quark-gluon vertex. In covariant gauges the dressing of the gluon propagator is completely specified by P(k2) := 1/[1+Π(k2)], where Π(k2) is the vacuum polarisation. In the absence of particle-like singularities in the dressed-quark-gluon vertex, extant proposals for the dressed-gluon propagator that manifest P(k2 = 0) = 0 and max(P(k2)) ∼ 10 neither confine quarks nor break chiral symmetry dynamically. This class includes all existing estimates of P(k2) via numerical simulations.

Infrared analysis of propagators and vertices of Yang–Mills theory in Landau and Coulomb gauge

Abstract The infrared behaviour of gluon and ghost propagators, ghost-gluon vertex and three-gluon vertex is investigated for both the covariant Landau and the non-covariant Coulomb gauge. Assuming infrared ghost dominance, we find a unique infrared exponent in the d = 4 Landau gauge, while in the d = 3 + 1 Coulomb gauge we find two different infrared exponents. We also show that a finite dress...

Infrared behaviour and fixed points in Landau gauge QCD

We investigate the infrared behaviour of gluon and ghost propagators in Landau gauge QCD by means of an exact renormalisation group equation. We explain how, in general, the infrared momentum structure of Green functions can be extracted within this approach. An optimisation procedure is devised to remove residual regulator dependences. In Landau gauge QCD this framework is used to determine th...

The Infrared Behavior of Gluon and Ghost Propagators in Landau Gauge QCD

A solvable systematic truncation scheme for the Dyson–Schwinger equations of Euclidean QCD in Landau gauge is presented. It implements the Slavnov–Taylor identities for the three–gluon and ghost–gluon vertices, whereas irreducible four–gluon couplings as well as the gluon–ghost and ghost–ghost scattering kernels are neglected. The infrared behavior of gluon and ghost propagators is obtained ana...

Infrared Exponents and the Running Coupling of Landau gauge QCD and their Relation to Confinement

The infrared behaviour of the gluon and ghost propagators in Landau gauge QCD is reviewed. The Kugo–Ojima confinement criterion and the Gribov–Zwanziger horizon condition result from quite general properties of the ghost Dyson–Schwinger equation. The numerical solutions for the gluon and ghost propagators obtained from a truncated set of Dyson–Schwinger equations provide an explicit example for...

The Kugo – Ojima confinement criterion and the Infrared Behavior of Landau gauge QCD ∗

Recent investigations of the Dyson–Schwinger equations and Monte– Carlo lattice calculations resulted in a coherent description of the fully dressed gluon, ghost and quark propagators in Landau gauge QCD. In the Dyson–Schwinger approach the infrared behaviour of these propagators is determined analytically. For finite spacelike momenta the gluon, ghost and quark propagators are compared to avai...
